Word of the Day
Joint Venture (JV)
It is when two or more companies come together to run a business or project.
The investment, risks, and profits are shared by the companies.
The companies continue to exist independently while working together on the JV.
It is usually created for a specific purpose or time period, after which the JV might be dissolved.

Context window: It is the total number of tokens an LLM can handle at any given time.
So every time you ask a question, the total tokens used must be less than the context limit.
This is why many LLMs struggle to read large PDF files or documents.
Another thing to note is that when you chat inside one thread, all previous questions and answers are being processed again.
So let’s say your first question was, “Which country is to the east of Thailand?”, and the next question is “which is the biggest city there?” The first question, its answer, and the next question are all being sent together.
This is why when the thread gets too long, an LLM is unable to handle it.
Context limits are increasing as the technology gets better, allowing the LLMs to accept much bigger inputs (many books, documents, PDFs, etc at the same time).
Featured Question
Q. “Does groww reinvest the dividend paid on underlying securities within a SIP? Where can one change or view that configuration on the app. Thanks”
Equity mutual funds that receive dividends reinvest the dividends back in the same mutual funds’ AUM.
This results in an increase in the NAV, therefore an increase in the investments’ value.
In short, they belong to the investors and are added to the investment amount accordingly.
This transaction is handled by the mutual funds at their level. It is not handled by investment platforms.
All dividends are added to the AUM. This cannot be altered by the investor.
