Malware scams.
This is probably the least understood of all scams.
Many times, your devices get compromised with viruses/malware downloaded from the internet.
This malware could spy on your activity and use sensitive information like passwords and PINs to hack into your accounts.
It is important to treat all incoming files and attachments with suspicion, especially when coming from unknown sources.
Avoid downloading images, videos, PDF files, etc from sources you are not sure about. Similarly, avoid clicking on links that seem dubious.
Some of these malware are actually ransomware that might use your information to blackmail you later.
Featured Question
Q. “Can i buy dividend stocks only during record date and sell after a couple of days and still get dividend? If thats the case everyone can buy stocks during dividend and sell after that and become rich right ?”
When a stock goes ex-dividend, its price drops by the dividend amount.
So, while you will get the dividend, the share’s price will also come down by roughly that amount.
This negates the immediate profits to be made.
Example:
You bought a stock at Rs 65. It has declared a dividend of Rs 5.
You will get the Rs 5 dividend declared. But its share price will drop to Rs 60.
While the exact dividend amount is reduced, the share price is still subject to change based on supply and demand.
So, it never reduces exactly by the dividend amount.
To add to this, there will be taxes, brokerage, etc.
In short, this quick manoeuvre usually does not make sense.
