6 Day Course
Theme: quarterly reports
Day 1: Monday
We keep hearing about companies releasing their quarterly reports in India.
In this week’s course, we’ll try to understand what they are and how they work.
Quarterly reports publishing is mandatory in India for all companies whose shares are traded on the share markets.
Such companies are also called listed companies.
In case of private companies that are not available on the share markets, this report must be published annually.
We will talk only about listed companies in this course.
Companies need to inform the exchange (BSE/NSE) 2 working days before they publish their quarterly report.
Companies must publish their quarterly report within 45 days of the end of the quarter.
In the case of the last quarter of the financial year (also called Q4, or Jan-March quarter), this limit is increased to 60 days.

What If
SIPs have become one of the most popular ways Indians invest in mutual funds.
Every month, thousands of crores come in through SIPs. And this amount has kept growing over the years.
In March of this year, monthly SIP contributions reached a record Rs 32,087 crore.
But the stock market still rises and falls.
So what happens to SIP investments when the market falls? Do people continue investing? And do larger SIP contributions help reduce the number or severity of market declines?
In today’s What If, we looked at 10 years of SIP contribution data and Nifty 50 returns to understand how people invested through market falls, whether larger SIP contributions were linked to fewer or smaller declines, and what happened after those falls.
