Word of the Day
Delisting
It happens when a company’s shares are removed from a stock exchange.
After this, the company shares are no longer traded on that exchange.
There are two types of delisting:
-Voluntary delisting: When the company exits the stock market on its own. It may operate as a private organisation after this.
-Involuntary delisting: When a company’s shares are delisted by SEBI, due to reasons like rule violations.
Investors have to sell the share after it is delisted. In most voluntary cases, the company offers to buyback shares from investors at a fixed price.
6 Day Course
Theme: candlesticks
Day 1: Monday
You would have often seen green/red bars on the screens of traders.
Many wonder what these are, and how they are used to understand what’s happening in the markets.
The most common chart is called ‘candlesticks’.
Observe a candlestick, it tells you what happened to a price in a day — where it started, where it ended, how high it went, and how low it fell.
A single candlestick is just that, but put a series of candlesticks together and it’s a story.
It shows a tug of war between buyers and sellers and tells who is stronger.
This week, we’ll delve into how candlesticks collectively make trends, how traders/investors use different time-frames on candlesticks to make decisions.
We explored the question “What if you invested in the foreign markets?”
